Smart Protection protects you against unexpected covered repair costs by covering virtually every component of your vehicle in the event of mechanical failure beyond the warranty period - even if caused by wear and tear *Wear and Tear Coverage: The applicable coverage in the event an orginal or like replacement part is unable to function in normal service.. This is especially important if your lease term exceeds the vehicle warranty time or your actual mileage goes beyond the warranty limit. If repairs are necessary, you can take care of them conveniently through at any GM dealership across the United States and Canada. With Smart Protection, you can enjoy your vehicle because you have security and peace of mind for the life of your vehicle service contract.



	Parts and Labor Costs
	Virtually every mechanical, electrical and electronic component of your GM vehicle is covered against failure even if it results from wear and tear *Wear and Tear Coverage: The applicable coverage in the event an orginal or like replacement part is unable to function in normal service.. You're covered for parts and labor on:

	Roadside Assistance
	Smart Protection provides 24-hour-a-day roadside assistance anywhere in the United States and Canada by calling our toll-free number for:
	Flat tire change Towing Battery jump Locksmith / Key service*** Out-of-gas fuel delivery



	Alternate Transportation
	If your vehicle is repaired under Smart Protection, you're covered for alternate transportation. Smart Protection will pay the cost to rent a replacement vehicle or for public transportation (some limits apply) when:
	Two or more manufacturer's labor time guide hours are required for the repair, or Your vehicle is not drivable and must be kept overnight**



	Trip Interruption
	If you are on a trip more than 100 miles from home and haven’t reached your destination, Major Guard will reimburse you up to $150 per day ($750 maximum) for unplanned hotel and/or restaurant expenses incurred if a covered component fails and requires more than a day to repair. All work must be completed at a licensed repair facility. No deductible will apply to the lodging and meal allowance. A deductible(if any) will apply to the vehicle repair. Original receipts must be provided. This coverage will come into effect after the Manufacturer's coverage expires.



	Designed to Meet Your Leasing Needs
	Select the Smart Protection term that is best for your situation. Coverage is offered in flexible time/mileage increments to match the terms of your lease. Smart Protection coverage may be purchased only at the time of lease inception. The cost of Smart Protection may be added into your monthly lease payment. In the event you want to sell or transfer your lease, Smart Protection can be transferred to the new owner for a small administrative fee. There's no paperwork. If your vehicle needs repair, everything is handled by your GM dealer. And you're covered for the life of your vehicle service contract. Smart Protection gives you peace of mind for the long run.

	Unless required in connection with a covered part we will not pay for: engine tune-up, suspension alignment, wheel balancing, filters, lubricants, engine coolant, drive belts, radiator hoses, heater and vacuum hoses, windshield wiper blades, air conditioning recharging, fluids, spark/glow plugs and wires, brake pads/linings and brake shoes/rotors, manual clutch disc, vehicle manufacturer recommended maintenance services and parts.
